Maybe: Each successive revision of the eye muscles is progressively more difficult due to scarring with increased unpredictability of results.  Yes, you may reoperate if indicated - please have your surgery done by an experienced strabismus surgeon.

Rx May help: Ambliopia is the process where the brain ignores the "camera" picture from one eye because it is less clear or causes double vision. It can sometimes be improved if the weaker eye is strengthened (glasses), the stronger eye is patched or if the eye is lined up better with surgery. If the process has gone on too long, the brain ignores the fix & surgery is simply cosmetic.

Yes: Yes, you may have to see a pediatric ophthalmologist, but a lazy eye can be fixed at any age.

Unlikely to happen: At a listed age of 35, it is likely this issue has gone on too long for you to regain lost vision.Glasses can help kids regain vision if it is used before the visual pathways are finished developing. An adult with set pathways will not.

Yes: A surgical procedure can correct the alignment of a "lazy eye" to make it appear straight.  But if the vision is reduced in a lazy eye ("amblyopia"), then after the age of about 8-10 years it can't be improved to the normal level in most cases.

Depends: Lazy eye is a vague term.  If you mean droopy lid, this is ptosis which would likely need surgery to be corrected.  If you are referring to misalignment of the eyes this is strabismus.  This is treated with glasses, exercises, surgery or patching (children only).  If you are referring to poor vision in 1 eye (amblyopia) then glasses or patching may help but usually only in kids.  See your eye doc.

Lazy eye: Likely, but it depends what you mean by 'lazy eye' as people use that term differently.  See my previous posts about strabismus.  Ptosis can be fixed as well, but amblyopia (lack of visual brain development as a child) cannot be fixed in an adult.  See your ophthalmologist (eye surgergeon/md) for an evaluation and clarification.

Difficult: If you mean that one eye is turned in or out, and that you've had this since childhood, then strabismus surgery may be an option. However, the success would depend on many factors including your vision in that eye and why it is turned. You should see a strabismus eye md for evaluation.

do i need to fix my lazy eye? when i don't wear my glasses (pretty often), my lazy eye drifts sometimes and i get double vision. is there something i need to do about this?

When : When you don't wear glasses, your lazy eye is not fixating on targets. As a result, this may cause the eye to drift more. As you said, wearing your glasses or contact lenses more, will reduce the drifting.

Depending on how much the eye is drifting and if the eye remains in a deviated position, you may consider surgical correction where eye muscle surgery will align the eyes. Also, if you see a change in the position of your eyes over time, i encourage you to see an ophthalmologist (eye physician & surgeon) who will assess your condition, make sure it is not something bad causing the change in the eye position, and recommend a plan of action.

When dealing with this problem, you have several choices:

1) do nothing;
2) wear your glasses/contacts more;
3) if the double vision bothers you, wear an eye patch;
4) if bothersome enough, seek an evaluation for surgery.
