PG is risky business: Pregnancy, in of itself, has inherent risks and complications associated with that state of being as you have noted from your previous pregnancy. Now that baby # 2 is on the way it is normal to have a heightened concern about repeat hemorrhage. Share your anxiety with your treating OB MD and if still not reassured, and if he/she delivered baby # 1 then seek a 2nd OB MD consultation.

PPCM: Postpartum cardiomyopathy (ppcm)  is heart failure secondary to left ventricular systolic dysfunction toward the end of pregnancy or in the months after delivery, in the absence of any other cause of heart failure. Ppcm is a diagnosis of exclusion. Retained placenta is not a cause.

is it ok to take the pill to stop bleeding with implanon if i've had a blood clot prior in uterus 6wks post partum? this was 3 yrs ago i had the clot.

Uncertain : I'm not certain what type of clot you mean. If you just passed a clot with your period it is no problem but, if it was a clot in a blood vessel, you should not take any estrogen due to the increased risk of blood clots in the vessels and the lungs. This includes birth control pills other than the mini-pill which only contains progesterone and won't help the bleeding. Hope this helps.

i am 9 months post-partum. can i take lipton?. will it affect the weight of my baby?

: Presumably you're nursing your baby, right? Assuming you mean Lipton tea, you can safely drink it in normal amounts. It won't affect your baby's growth or weight, or cause any other health problems unless you are taking many cups a day, in which case the baby might be affected by the caffeine and other caffeine-like sustances in tea.

It should: If you are breast feeding your infant without skipping that also is a pretty good method birth control. Kind of nature's way of saying no more for now. Concentrate on the one you have.

About the next baby: If a postpartum woman waits until her next menstrual period before starting contraception, she may be well on her way with her next baby already... because she may ovulate before she realizes it. Women should start contraception BEFORE having sex, when postpartum. If she has already had sex before contraception, and later worries about pregnancy, she can do a pregnancy test 3 weeks after sex.

if i'm prescribed ativan (lorazepam) 0.5 bid prn for post partum anxiety how long can i take it before it's addictive? it's helpful but i'm concerned.

Post partum anxiety: Medications such as Ativan (lorazepam) are addictive in the sense that they are quickly adapted to, and to achieve the same effect, higher doses are required.  The general post-partum anxiety is caused in part by sudden drops in estrogen, but unless you are nursing, your regular cycle should resume within 6-8 weeks after delivery. You should consult your healthcare provider to evaluate the need to continue.

i am 2mos post partum and need to lose 50lbs asap. any prescription suggestions i can take to my dr such as qsymia or belviq (lorcaserin)? or otc products?

Breast feed : Breast feeding speeds up your metabolism causing a 30% calorie burn increase. Diet and exercise are your additional options. There are no "secret" pills or short cuts.

: What you chose to feed your infant is up to you. I see no reason not to breast feed if that is your usual pattern after taking a vitamin A supplement.
