Stop: You need to talk to your doctor about stopping the Concerta and taking something else. Other medications, like adderall, Ritalin can also cause tics. Other medications for adhd such as strattera and intuiv and wellbutrin (bupropion) will not cause tics.

Depends: It can vary, but there will typically be red and swollen.  There might even be an area of pus in the center of the redness.  If it doesn't spontaneously improve, then you may want to show your doctor.

Depends: Most individuals who experience tics in childhood will have them disappear as they grow older. Statistically, 1/3 will outgrow the tics while another 1/3 will continue to have a few tics that come and go. Less than 1/3 will have a severe case that has a significant impact on their lives. Most tics are harmless and the most troubling symptoms are co-occurring symptoms of adhd, depression or ocd.

Not exactly.: It is usually not something that can be completely stopped (although some neurosurgeons might be able to do the trick in certain circumstances if the risks are worth it).  However, there are a number of medications, and possibly even psychotherapies, which can reduce the severity and the frequency of the tics.

It depends.: It depends on the child, and on the medication. Some adhd medications are stimulants, and would tend to make tics worse in anyone. Other adhd medications should not worsen tics. It's best to discuss this with your doctor.

Side effects: I have not seen this particular side effect with lexapro (escitalopram). It would be necessary to know when the tics started in relationship to when you started the medication. I would certainly discuss this with your doctor to determine the cause and effect.
