But prescription strength skin peels(often with stronger glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid) in combination with prescription retinoic acids have a stronger effect.  Laser resurfacing is another viable option instead of mechanical dermabrasion.

Dermatitis: Sounds like you did a little too strong treatment. Give it time to heal. Mild steroid-- Hydrocortisone ointment 1% can be helpful. Most important is stay away from sunlight and use lots of sun block.
