Warm, not hot, water: The national eczema association recommends a warm 15 minute shower for those with dry skin. Try a gentle cleansing bar or wash, instead of soap and avoid scrubbing your skin with a washcloth.  In my experience, the in-shower moisturizers are not nearly as effective as using a regular moisturizer immediately after showering (within 3 minutes).  Also, i highly recommend the aveeno (oatmeal) baby moisturizer.

Not due to hot water: Within 3 minutes after bathing use a cream for dry skin. Best is one with CERAMIDES. You may also benefit from a prescription cortisone cream or ointment.

: I would blame chronic excessive scalp muscle tension here although it would be a good idea to be examined physically first. If no pathology is evident, I strongly recommend stress management therapy by a mental health professional which I believe will be of great help to you.

A dermatologist can: give you a specialist answer. In general, hot water is not a problem.  Lubricate your skin from w/in w/fish oil, vitamin E, or coconut oil.  Externally w/vitamin E oi or other non-alcohol containing lotionl.  It won't stop the wrinkles but can add comfort.  Please see dermatologist.  Peace and good health.

Background allergy?: Hot water brings more blood up to the skin which can activate an underlying allergic skin condition. Apply pure vaseline sparingly to the skin, avoid anti-bacterial soaps and see if you have any underlying skin disease.
