can i use adapalene and benzoyl peroxide gel alternatively for acne treatment? like adapalene before bed time and benzoyl peroxide in morning?

YES: This is a good combination treatment.  The two medications work in different ways and therefore help
each other out.  The Adapalene can make you more sensitive to the sun.  Be careful in the sun.  The benzoyl
peroxide can be drying especially in the winter, so  a mild moisturizer such as aveeno (oatmeal).   You are on minocycline.  It can cause grayish pigmentation of the skin/ gums.  Not reversible.  Rare.

Topical Treatment: Topical retinoids and antibiotics are effective for comedonal and inflammatory acne.  If your condition is more severe and extensive with cysts, a brief course of systemic antbiotics would help.

Accepted Answer

Acne: Both can be effective, although through different actions.  Benzaclin (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) is more effective with acne causing bacteria.  Differing is a retinoid.   Uses in conjunction, they can be very effective. But, it's all trial and error.

will purging occur again if so i say that im using adapalene for my skin now then the next day i switch to a prescribed acne treatment containing azelaic acid, tretinoin and clindamycin phosphate?

: Topical use of what you described is unlikely to have caused your purging so look for something else as cause of the purging. Oral use of Clindamycin may cause diarrhea because of C. difficile colitis, but not usually topical use.

Yes: For best results, all the acne creams (benzyl peroxide, retin-a, astringents. Antibiotics) should be used daily if tolerated.

Yes: You can also use the benzoyl peroxide in the morning.

Redness: Some acne medications such as retinoid creams, benzoyl peroxide, and others exfoliate and may dry and irritate  the skin.  Using less product and transitioning to every other day may help along with using a  moisturizer .  Contact your dermatologist for instructions.

is it okay to put a gel moisturizer after i put on salicylic acid 2% acne treatment?  i do this because i have combination skin (t-zone breakouts).

Yes: Okay to use the gel moisturizer including over spots where you have used salicylic acid. Choose one that is water based and contains sunscreen to reduce inflammation from sun exposure.

i was prescribed clindamycin phosphate gel and epiduo for acne treatment. in the evening, do i apply the epiduo before the clindamycin phosphate gel?

It depends,,,: There seems to be no special sequence of what to apply first.  If you are still unsure, it would be smart to ask the doctor who prescribed them before using those products if the order matters.  Best of luck.

i am using adapalene microsheres + clindamycin phospate gel for treating acne...does it reduce the black spots....if not what is the treatment for that?

Acne treatment : Acne is caused by overproduction of oil in the skin called sebum and from a bacteria called propiones acnes. The adapelene controls sebum and Clindamycin is the antibiotic. The dark spots may either be blackheads (sebum in the skin exposed to the environment) or scarring. The former is treatable with adapelene. Scarring is not. Note that improvement w/acne treatment takes 2-3 months.
