Bleeding: When you take 4 pills you elevate your progesterone level. When you stop, you have a precipitous drop which may result in a withdrawal bleed. If you keep taking one pill per day, you will bleed almost daily for as long as you are taking one pill. Your options are to stop the pill for about 4 days, bleed and restart a new pack after 4 days. Next is to take 3 pills x2, 2 pills x2, then 1 daily.

May be normal: It is not uncommon to have break through bleeding on the first package of pills when first starting, restarting, or changing pills or any time you miss pills or take one late. This should be better on the second package and gone by the third. The other consideration with breakthrough bleeding is the possibility of an infection. If this continues, you need to be checked to rule that out. Be well.

: Spotting is not uncommon at this time in the cycle when ovulation occurs. However, if spotting persists in the next cycle and it seems not related to ovulation then you should see a gynecologist. Good luck.
