No connection: Low iron is usually due to blood loss such as heavy or prolonged periods.  Or long-term poor iron intake.  This results in anemia (low blood count).  May need iron supplement.

Blood : Blood in your semen is called hematospermia. This is not uncommon and is not necessarily problematic.  If you are at young man and  have been sexually active without protection-  talk to your doctor about being evaluated for an std. If your are a man over 40 and this is recurrent, see your doctor to  ensure that there is not a serious cause like prostate cancer.

Not that we know of: Semen volume is driven by the seminal vesicle and its muscular contractility. We know very little about what effects this organ's performance during sex.

See answer: Though blood in semen (hematospermia) is a very alarming finding to men, it is almost always benign, self-limiting, and in general requires no further evaluation or treatment other than reassurance, especially in men under.

: Observe it for a few weeks and it may clear up. If not you will have to be checked by a Urologist and have a semen exam.

Get checked.: If semen production after ejaculation changes (unless due to repeated ejaculations often over a short period of time), get seen to be sure there is no problem.  If you have had sex and never been checked for std's, get checked for those, too (even if you used condoms, they are not 100% safe). See your GP first, and if the problem isn't solved, get a referral to a urologist.

Rapidly: If not kept in an enviroment near body temperature, sperm die very rapidly.   Hence, semen samples need to be transported near body temperature to the lab within 30 min to 1 hour of collection.
