INSECT BITE ALLERGY: It depends on the allergic reaction. If it is only itchy  bumps, hc cream or other steroids plus Benadryl (diphenhydramine) intake will suffice. If the reaction is severe like anaphylactic shock or angioedema, you need Epipen shots or call 911.

Bites: In my experience such cases almost always turn out to be due to insect bites. Bed bugs can be very elusive. A dermatologist is best qualified to make the diagnosis and advise you.

Possibly...: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.

Insect Repellant: Considered safe for children of all ages and for pregnant women, biteblocker organic xtreme uses only plant-based ingredients, like soybean and geranium oils (formulas that use oil of lemon eucalyptus are also botanically derived, but aren't safe for kids younger than age 3). As with most natural insect repellents, protection time varies greatly among individuals -- anywhere from 90 minutes up.

Big bites: Bed bug bites are usually self limiting and heal on their own in healthy patients. Cortisone creams or antihistamines may help with the symptoms. It could also be an active scabies infestation and there are very good over the counter soaps that you can purchase. A quick internet search and visit to your local pharmacy should be enough to rid yourself of this problem. If not, see your primary doc

I : I would not say you are paranoid. You have visited the home of someone with bed bugs aka mites, therefore your concern is warranted. Not everyone responds the same to these bites or has the same amount of bites. One characteristic that is typically universal is the itching. If you get more bites then you should be concerned that you possibly have bed bugs in your own home.

Cannot say: Do the lesions itch burn or hurt. That makes a difference. You should see a dermatologist to determine what they are.

i asked what to do about insect bites (mosquito) on knees/lower extremities and the pain goes up to 10 another doctor answered that it was probably not a mosquito and it could be infected. what type of bug do you think it would be?

No way to tell: There are more insect species than animal species and thus there is no way to give you a definite answer. Some bites are more typical than others but the only definite answer is having the body of the actual insect observed to have bitten you. Else it would be mostly circumstantial evidence.
