Many possibilities: Inner side of knee depending on location could also be pes anserine bursitis and if your doc thinks that this is the case, he/she may also offer you an injection +/- therapy. If pain persists you may need to see orthopedics +/- have an mri. Best wishes. Xrays give a good basic look at the knee joint but will not give details re: muscles/ligaments, etc, .

during exercise i got sharp pain under my ribcage (r/s) just below my breast & inner side of my right knee. pain is not shooting (through whole leg + abdomen) but hurts at 2 different points simultaneously when bending over or bearing weight on knee?

: I don't think using this forum is the best way to be sure what is going on, you need an in-person examination. My guess is that your brain is connecting the pains when there is only a problem in the knee, I am not sure. Does the chest hurt to touch? Muscle, joint and ligament problems require an in-person examination which I wish I can reach out and do via the internet but I can't.

Bruise: A bruise or contusion will resolve by itself over about a week. It will turn colors like black, blue, green, yellow and fade away. It usually starts by some type of trauma to the body. Can you remember any overuse of the legs, body or knees. Should be better in a week and resolved. If not see a doctor for check up.

Doctor Visit: Pain should not be increasing over time. Are you on crutches? How are you walking around? May need to rest the knee. Likely a meniscus tear or MCL sprain. See a doctor for exam and follow up to stop pain and prevent further knee damage.

Meniscus tear.: It could be a medial meniscal tear. You should see an orthopedic knee specialist, who will start with xrays, to check for any arthritis, or other bony abnormalities. If the xrays are ok, then you may need an mri, to see if there is a meniscal tear. If there's a tear, you may require arthroscopic surgery.
