MS: The MS patient , more frequently present  with blurred vision,  one extremity , or both difficult, loss equilibrium, poor concentration, anxious, imbalance , difficult to sleep, numbness one side or bilateral.

Excellent question: Subtle problems early on can be very misleading and indeed, can confuse docs.  Some common early signs include loss of vision in one eye, weakness in legs or arms, electrical shocks on flexing neck, gait imbalance or incoordination,  numbness or tingling, vague persistent fatigue, even confusion or disorientation.  Mri's are commonly helpful.

1st signs of MS: The first symptoms of MS vary from patient to patient. However, a common first symptom is fatigue: Not just tiredness, but disabling fatigue or "lassitude." Early: Difficult to say as it varies from person to person. Usually there are strange neurologic symptoms. Bell's palsy (half of face is paralyzed) can be a sign.

Numbness in one half: There may be several causes other than MS

Stroke
Neuropathy etc

Nonspecific: Hoffman's is a finger flick reflex response and may be seen unilaterally after a focal brain lesion.  It has nothing to do with the diagnosis of ms and is merely part of a neurological examination.  Granted some ms pts do show this sign, but in my experience it is of no value in correlating any diagnosis without additional signs.

i was diagnosed with ms in october of 2013. with this lhermitt's sign, should i be concerned? is this a sign of a relapse? or just let it pass?

You left out stuff: So what you left out was (?): You had symptoms, you saw a doctor (neurologist?), your neurologic exam was abnormal, you had a brain MRI, it was positive for MS. You were started on DMT. NOW, you're experiencing Lhermitte's phenomenon. This is new. - Lhermitte's suggests lesion(s) in the cervical cord. You may need to have (or repeat) an MRI of your cervical spine. Discuss with your neurologist.

Signs of MS?: It's not impossible, but you're in a low-risk group. For information about the manifestations of MS, look at the websites of the MS Foundation &amp; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

i have ms and over 40 but i am having signs of pregnacy. what should i do?

Pregnancy test: There are many women who have ms and are able to have children successfully. But the first step is to do a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant. If so, see an obstetrician. If not, depending on what your 'signs' are, you may need to see your doctor.
