hi doctors, was just wondering what is a vertebral hemangioma?

Common and not bad: Its the most common benign (i.e. good as opposed to cancer) tumor one can have in the bones of the spine, about 1 in 10 people will have one.  The can weaken the structure of the spine bones though can that can cause problems in itself but that should be visible on the MRI or X-ray that showed the hemangioma

No: If it is truly a hemangioma seen in one of your vertebrae, no problem.  Hemangiomas are seen in about 10-15 percent of patients that undergo a lumbar MRI.  They simply represent a higher density of vascular tissue in an area of the vertebrae, but can appear as a lesion in the vertebrae on an MRI scan.  They are usually of no clinical significance.

Common and benign: Hepatic hemangiomas are common benign liver masses that have a characteristic appearance on ultrasound, ct scan, and mri.  Occasionally, they may have an atypical appearance in which case we may recommend additional imaging, follow up, or biopsy.

Birthmark: It's the same lesion as gorbachev's birthmark but in the liver. Don't worry about it.

Only a few: For women it should be less than 10 a week.

Is it: Is it growing? Does this doctor treat a lot of hemangiomas? See pediatric dermatologist to discuss treatment options.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. You may watch and wait as many hemangiomas in children disappear with time. If the lesion gets larger, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!

i have congenital hemangioma on my hand. i want to diagnose whether i have any internal hemangiomas in/on my organs. which doctor should i visit?

Many answers: This is very difficult to do, AND usually very expensive.  Many of us have an internal hemangioma somewhere in our body, but they rarely cause a problem.  If you have a family history of familial hemagiomatosis, then you should get checked-usually by a vascular surgeon or phlebologist.

Not related: Fracture is the traumatic injury and the hemangiomas r incidental findings ; r not 2 be concerned about.
