Heat: Often kids have some relief if they put their hurt ear down on a heating pad or compress at a low heat level. The diffuse heat messages going to the brain seem to diminish the ear pain some.If  over 6mo i prefer Ibuprofen for the discomfort. Sx lasting more than 3 days deserve a doc's review.

i had an ear ache, so i put baby oil in it.  now i can't get the oil out?

Accepted Answer

Irrigation: The oil may have solidified and is attached to either the ear canal skin or even the ear drum.  Try 3% hydrogen peroxide, 4 times a day (dropper full) for a week.  If that does not help see an ENT doctor for proper and safe removal by either microscopic removal or simple irrigation of warm water.

my 8 yr old is complaining of sore ears. not inside her ears like with an earache. no other apparent symptoms. should i be concerned at all?

Yes: Frequently children go swimming in the summer. There is a type of ear infection of the outer ear canal. This can become severe and does merit treatment. Usually treated with drops and staying out of water for several days. The ears should be looked at as soon as possible.

the next morning its bruised with symptoms, headache, jaw paint in the left and ear ache. 
dizzy today monday and generally not feeling well. help?

Temperature: You may have a tick or insect borne illness, including encephalitis. Take a photo of the area, remove any ticks or stingers using forceps. Please see your physician, drink fluids and rest.

Possibly: Anxiety can mimic most anything, but more commonly leads a person to magnify existing problems out of proportion to their true level. It is such a common problem in our society, and help is available. Though stigmatized, it warrants your access to a mental health professional. So many people suffer from anxiety, and many can be profoundly helped. Good luck!

my 5 year old had a really bad ear ache. he has had a cold so this followed. i treated the symptoms and he finally slept a little last night. he woke up this morning with the ear ache but not as bad. he wants to sleep and is not hungry. no fever...

Should be seen.: A diagnosis of Otitis media can only be made by visualizing the ear drum. So that is my best advice, before it progresses.

my husband and 4 year tested positive november 15th +/-.  my 3 month old was negative however he was pretty sick and his pediatrician felt like he really had it.  i had some symptoms like aches and ear ache and lost smell.  i never got tested as i was told to presume i was positive.  i currently feel pretty bad with stopped up nose and body aches and have temp of 100.1.   can i get it again or do you think i need to get tested???

COVID-19: Reports of symptoms recurring or persisting after Covid-19 are known, as are persons who test falsely positive or negative.  It sounds as though you had the disease, but another viral disease known as the "flu"may be present.  If I were you, I would find a trusted MD familiar with Covid-19 and be evaluated. A test might be helpful, but hardly conclusive.

after endoscopy, my doc said i have bile reflux.  so my symptoms of bitter taste, nape pain, ear ache is due to bile reflux and not acid reflux?

Symptoms overlap: le reflux and gastric acid reflux are separate conditions. Whether bile is important in GERD is controversial. Bile is often  suspected of contributing to GERD when people respond incompletely or not at all to powerful acid-suppressant medications. But there is little evidence pinpointing the effects of bile reflux in people.Unlike gastric acid reflux, bile reflux can't be completely controlled .

t rads5 nodule lower right lobe thyroid 6mm. demand it removed asap or follow guidline of wait till 1cm and fna? my concern being metastisizing during watch and wait. experiencing weird symptoms like throat and ear ache periodically not sure if link?
