Normal infant stool: Water, yellow, seedy stool in infants can be watery and frequent and "normal." the diaper rash is due to chemical irritation from the stool and urine sitting on the skin.  The blood may be from excoriation or a mild fissure.  If your baby is healthy, feeding and growing nicely-don't sweat this.  Are you exclusively breast feeding? Check with you pediatrician for support.

LBM-DIAPER RASH: Among babies, diaper rash follows lbm.  Diarrhea rx:  no juice or milk,  depending on age, you can give tea, rice, crackers, banana, pedialyte.Consult md if not sure.Diaper rash responds to fungal medic. Like nystatin, mycolog, lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone).

Vusion Ointment: Vusion ointment is indicated for adjunctive treatment of diaper dermatitis when complicated by documented candidiasis (microscopic evidence of pseudohyphae and /or budding yeast) in immunocompetent pediatric patients 4 weeks and older. This ointment will not hurt your child if no yeast is present.

my 1year old has a bad rash on his bum that doesn't seem like normal diaper rash, maybe not even a yeast rash... it has had a really raw patch for 3 days. looks more like eczema? he's also had diarrhea almost every diaper for 3 days. is desitin best?

Desitin is ok: You need to protect the skin with an ointment barrier  such as Vaseline, Butt paste, zinc oxide ointment and the like. Reapply after each diaper change, and if possible let the derrière air out for a while, so the skin can breath. Treat the diarrhea if this continues . Good luck

my son is 26months old and has been having tummy cramps and straight after he makes a runny stool. he has a bad diaper rash  as a result. no other symptoms, just the runny cramps and diarrhea. what should i do?

Diarrhea: For the diarrhea you should make sure that he is well hydrated. Let him take a probiotic daily .This might help. The nappy rash is probably due to the highly acidic loose stools. You could use a barrier cream to ease the rash. If he still is not improving then I suggest you consult with your doctor who could look at his overall health and also his diet.

Hemorrhoids: Try using a hemorrodial ointment containing a local anesthetic such as nupercainal oinment for relief of oain.

That is possible :  stools expected to change w/formula change until your baby's intestine adjusts to new formula. Greenish yellow seedy stools are a normal stool color for babies. There are many.  Is the baby excessively fussy /gassy. If not,  give it a bit longer to see how your baby is adjusting. Many changes &amp; you can't tell what works. for rash-barrier ointment &amp; air helpful can mix maalox w/it and apply

my one year old just started cows milk. i noticed he does fine with 2% but got horrible gas pains, loose stools and bad diaper rash. why is that?

Confusing question: You don't list what s/he drank before: bm/formula, if formula was it soy, lactose free or cow milk based. The symptoms sound like simple lactose intolerance, and deserves a discussion with your doc. In the mean time a trial on lactose free milk (lactaid) could improve things until you do.

Normal: This can be normal. It is recommended that children at 1 year be drinking whole milk. Unlikely due to lactose intolerance since he can already drink 2% milk fine.
