Yes: Ripped contacts can remain in the eye and cause inflammation and inflammation and infection.  Eyes can also develop infection with contact lens use without pieces being left in.  Go see your eye doctor to be safe.

Need helper or doc: The contact most likely fell out, but the good news is that it can't go anywhere except under your eyelid. If it feels like it is on your eye, have an assistant (preferably your doctor) wash their hands and check your eye while you look in all directions, and also lift your eyelid slightly while you look down.  Artificial tears will help to float it or move it so it can be removed.

Contact lenses: Are generally very well tolerated.  Unfortunately, some patients have adverse reactions (including itching) to multiple different brands of lenses.  This typically means that you should not be wearing contact lenses.

Dry eye: The gritty feeling is likely due to dry eye-related ocular surface irritation.  Try using frequent artificial tears.

No: Crossed eyes and contacts are not related.  There are several reasons why eyes might cross;  poor vision, lazy eye (amblyopia), strabismus, etc.

Many times the situation can be corrected by a pediatric ophthalmologist...They specialize in crossed eyes.

While wearing: contact lenses, your eyes can become irritated, scratchy, and even become red. Dryness will also cause you to have cloudy vision that comes and goes. Use plenty of artificial tears and shorten the period you wear contacts. If the dryness is too severe, then contacts are probably not your friend. Sometimes, switching to another brand is worth a try. Good Luck.
