just took a clindamycin capsule. it took me a few try to get it down so it was already soft. i finally was able to swallow it i started to cough. im not sure if the pill or some of my drink went down my windpipe. would i have choked if it was pill?

: If the pill did indeed go into your trachea, you would definitely know that you inhaled it. If you have persistent coughing that lasts more than a few minutes, see your doctor or go to the emergency room. Good luck.

No: It will be digested by the acid in your stomach. There is no harm to you.

Drink warm liquid: To melt the cough drop and soothe any scratch or irritation it caused.  Next time just suck!

Drink water: Have glass of water. If the cough drop has not dissolved by now, water will help.

: No. If by aspiration you mean it going into your lungs, you would have had a bout of cough has it gone into your airways.

Stuck sensation: Swallowing a cough drop should not be an issue. It has smooth edges and unlikely to get stuck, and will dissolve as you make saliva throughout the day. Drink fluids, and you will be alright!

Have LPR maybe?: Avoid foods &amp; behavior that delay stomach emptying &amp;/or relax the lower esophageal sphincter--spicy, greasy food, mints, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, tomato-based products, caffeinated &amp; fizzy drinks, eating before bedtime, exercises. Lose weight. Elevate head of bed on blocks. Can try otc acid blocker for relief (h2's: tagamet, zantac, (ranitidine) pepcid; ppi's: prilosec, prevacid,nexium). Eval if persistent

i got pizza stuck in the wrong windpipe. i drank.some pop and alot of water and it's not going down the same windpipe my food went. pls how do i get it out/swallow it at home?

Trachea: There is only one "wind pipe", and that is called the trachea. The other "food pipe" is called the esophagus. If you aspirated pizza into your lungs you would be coughing up a storm and not on the internet. Food sometimes feels "stuck" in the esophagus but it makes its way to your stomach just the same. Take smaller bites and eat slowly.

i have accidentally swallowed a mosquito when yawning. i immediately coughed harder and felt better but i still felt some irritation in my windpipe for sometime. i wonder if there's a chance for the mosquito to reach lungs in case it didn't come out?
