i have lowered my fentanyl patch from 100 to 75 (rather than going cold turkey to come off.) i am very tired and feel 'stoned'. is that normal?

Get help ASAP: Withdrawal symptoms can be very unpleasant and even life-threatening. Your doctor is the best person to give you advice for how to wean off of Fentanyl. Take care.

Opioid withdrawal: Good question.  Symptoms of opioid withdrawal tend to appear 1-2 days after your last dose.  You may feel flu-like symptoms, aching, the need to yawn or a bit agitated.  You may find this information helpful too

Unlikely: Hyperalgesia may exist because of the pain process but should not be due to narcotics that was stopped so long ago. This is usually seen in sympathetic mediated pain like complex regional pain syn (reflex sympathetic dystrophy)

guillain barre pain led to long term fentanyl.  after stopping cold turkey i became extremely, painfully hyper sensitive.  hands, face, feet. normal?

Withdraw : You have developed withdraw symptoms from Opioid, after using them for longterm our body gets dependent on them and screams and acts up if stops abruptly, you need to come off of it slowly and pain medicine doctor can help you with that. Good luck.

my husband has been on fentanyl 100 mcg for  3 years he wants to get ooes he need to detox at a hospitalf .?

Ask your doctor: Your doctor should be able to taper the dosage then switch to a less strong agent and then taper that.  This way you can get off the pain meds slowly and avoid inpatient detox.

i am on 150mcgr fentanyl patches/24 hrs and my dr has suggested i go off fentanyl and take suboxone. i am terrified of living with pain again, & detox?

: this can be done they can use buprenorphine and then transition to buprenorphine/naloxone , it can be helpful for pain and it is a good option if considering opioid induced hyperalgesia

Not wise to do: While it's admirable that you want to remove opiates from your body,  going cold turkey is never advised. Ideally, a slow wean over a few weeks, depending on how much your were on, along with some low dose Valium and/or catapres (clonidine) would allow you to feel better during the process.

Fentanyl: There are two answers. Chemically, the transdermal fentanyl will be gone in about 48-72 hours. Thats because the dermis holds on to the drug and it can be a slow, slow release. Physically, you have a narcotic addiction that will take much longer to address. See a pain/addiction specialist for weaning oversight. Don't go cold turkey.

i had a urine screen come back positive for fentynal on thursday,but had clean screen 2 days before and clean screen thr day after. i have not touched any fentynal and court wants me to admit use but i have never touched it. what can cause this?

: If indeed the urine test was accurate, you have fentanyl in your system. It could remain longer than 2 days
