Several treatments.: You can try over the counter wart removers, but be careful: i've seen them do more harm than good. Other options your doctor might offer include cryotherapy (freezing the wart), electrocautery (burning the wart), laser treatment, or several different topical chemical treatments. If the treatment is typically uncomfortable, your doctor can numb the area before proceeding.

Yes, but...: In your case the infection is localized to your foot.  There are many types, or strains, of the virus and the majority of the known types of hpv cause no symptoms in most people.

I : I am sorry to say that plantar warts can sometimes be quite devilish to remove.  I put a "podiatry" specialty on this. Hoping that dr. Fox will chime in too.

Yes: but most likely you would have had to be picking or scratching the area to spread it.

No: Verruca plantaris is a specific HPV wart strain different from the genital wart virus strain.  You are safe to take a bath, however it is important to get clinical treatment so it will not spread to your other foot!

Wouldn't: Be worried. Many ways to treat. I think I would recommend a conservative treatment before cutting, or burning. 
My favorite way is via pulse dye laser.

Try over the counter: treatments first.  Most warts will go away on their own. If the one you have is causing problems, try any of the over the counter remedies for warts. Surgery is not usually needed. It can be frozen, if need be.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.
