Q: tmj ( no jaw joint damage on x-ray ) -ear symptoms for over a yr-going. now stiffness in front of ear+ stiff neck and fluttering in head.will this go?

Re-evaluate: Tmj\tmd is not something that you generally just treat and it's cured. There are many contributing factors and episodes of stress, not wearing an appliance, gum chewing, etc. Can cause ongoing symptoms. When was the last time you saw your dentist for an evaluation? Are you following all instructions? See your dentist and perhaps an ENT specialist to rule out any medical issues.

These are worrisome: symtoms and may represent an inflammation of the meninges. You should be evaluated by a health care provider as soon as possible to exclude meningitis. Go soon and don't delay.

Neck pain: Likely you injured small muscles used in postural control ,try a soft foam neck collar for support ,prescription  muscle relaxing drugs may also help ,if severe see a physician

Yes: You must rule out the possibility of bleeding into the brain.  There is a well known lucid interval that may last for hours following a head injury.  It would be wise to go to the emergency room and rule out the possibility of a sub dural bleed.

Concerned: Some residual ache can be expected but one can never be certain that you might have a concussion or subdural hematoma problem. If the headache gets worse and any nausea, neurologic symptoms or visual distortion occurs, need to rush to ER.  Regardless, in case of doubt get examined.

i hit my head last night, had a small bump. woke up to a stiff neck. i don't have headaches or anything besides the stiff neck. should i get it checked out?

Not necessarily: In the absence of other symptoms, the wait and see approach to a stiff neck is ok.  The bump is enough to explain minor muscle or connective tissue irritation contributing to the stiffness. Apply heat and get adequate rest/hydration and see if it improves.

i was hit on the head with a box that wasn't heavy. before this i had stiff neck, shoulder, & back.  what sign should i worry and should i see doctor?

Knocked out.: If the box you and you were knocked out it is much more likely you may have a significant injury. We look for neurologic findings such as mental confusion, upset stomach, eyes focusing properly, ambulating properly. You could also have pain in your arms or loss of function in your arms.
