Bp meds: 43. F ask after eating medicine how long does it take for BP to get normal. ANS: by eating I assume you mean taking with a drink of water.  ANS: depends on the med. A blessing --: Yes -- you are more likely to feel dizzy or faint with a low baseline blood pressure -- having said that, low blood pressure is generally more of a blessing than a concern -- just make sure that you take care of your health like anyone else with exercise and healthy lifestyle -.

very often when i get up i see lights for a few seconds, does this indicate that i have low blood pressure? never faint though! should lbp be treated?

Orthostatic: This is very typical of orthostatic hypotension, your blood pressure false for few seconds when you stand up due to blood pooling in lower extremities. Unless you have fainting, or blood pressure problems during the day, usually this situation does not require treatment.

what causes a sudden drop in blood pressure after eating?

May be normal: Eating is known to decrease BP for an hour or two. Blood is routed to the intestine and liver and that reduces overall bp. Dehydration and some medicines may make this meal induced change in BP more obvious.  I would not worry too much, but i would be careful to avoid sudden changes in posture, or exposure to very high temps after eating.

Blood Pressure: Eating is associated with an increased cardiac output and increased blood pressure.  This is necessary to pump more blood to the intestines to help digest and absorb nutrients.  So it is normal for your blood pressure to go up after you eat.

Hypertension: You do have hypertension and it is quite labile. You are somewhat young for the onset of essential hypertension which is the commonest form and is often familial. You may be in the 10% of hypertensive patients that have secondary  Hypertension which can be due to renal artery dysplasia, pheochromocytoma, hyperaldosteronism for example. Consult a cardiologist for evaluation,appropriate testing&amp;care

Your : Your ringing in the ears may be a symptom known as "tinnitus". There is a huge list of conditions associated with tinnitus such as: 
- age related hearing loss 
- exposure to loud noise 
- medication side effects 
- ear wax impaction 
- head and neck injuries 
- blood vessel disorders 
- acoustic neuroma 
- meniere's disease 
- stress and depression

tinnitus is very common - 1 in 5 people have it! the best way to evaluate the cause and possible treatments is to see an ear, nose and throat doctor (otolaryngologist). Tinnitus can improve with treatment of the underlying disorder, so it is worth looking into.

This variation is nore noticeable in hypertensive subjects than normal subjects.

No difference: Most of today's blood pressure  medications  are taken once daily and work equally well whether they're taken 15to30 minutes before or after meals. You could check with your pharmacist to be sure.
