See your doctot: You have to go see your doctor for a complete exam, rule out any major causes-something more serious than just a pinch nerve or compressed nerve. From there, he can give you the best recommendation to solve your problem.

i had left knee acl reconstruction about  6 months ago and have neglected my rehab, i have normal function on my left leg but when i try to do quadriceps extension or try to do rehab on my left leg my whole thigh and knee shakes . is this normal?

Muscle weakness: The shaking is one sign of muscle weakness. I recommend going back to your orthopedic surgeon and asking him/her to outline an appropriate program of physical therapy to improve muscle strength.

women who had an acl injury: how do you know your quadriceps overdeveloped?

Hamstring:QuadRatio: It is all about balance.  The quadriceps and hamstrings are opposing muscles.  The hamstrings are considered secondary supporting structures for the acl in preventing anterior translation of the tibia. The quadriceps pull the tibia forward.  If the quads are overly developed then more pull forward.  Ideal ratio is about 75%.  Check in weight room: divide leg curl weight by leg extension weight.

Pulsating: If you have been exercising and your quadricep is is swollen that could cause if to pulsate. Rest, ice and anti-inflammatory should help. However, if the pulsation is new, I would be seen.

Yes: Any time you have decreased range of motion as a result of tight muscles there is an increased risk of tendon and ligament injury.

Quad tendon tear: Spontaneous or low impact quad tendon tear is more common in middle aged men than young women, but should have an exam and MRI to be sure. Can you straighten out your knee against gravity?  Are you a runner or soccer player as quad dysfunction is common in female athletes.

for the past few weeks i have not been able to fully extend both legs and flex my quadriceps without having a sharp pain in both knees. it has progressed to where when i attempt to stretch, they start shaking. no prior injury that i recall either?

: When I see swelling in both extremities I pay attention to systemic possibilities. At your very young age that is also inconsistent to develop this type of condition of edema  to both extremities. I would recommend a complete work up by your family doctor

Depends: As usual, it depends on the injury.  If we're talking about just contusion without fracture, then just time, perhaps warm compresses to help resolve bruising, and pain relievers.  If there are fractures, typically it's just time and stabilization.  Fractures involving the mandible and maxilla, or dental fractures require a lot more care and rehabilitation.

Fingertip injury: A good physical therapist with an interest in hand rehabilitation therapy would be a good approach.  Call a local pt or ask the pts at your local hospital.
