i cough every time i get out of the shower. could something be wrong?

Likely no: Likely nothing wrong.  Patients who cough in this situation might have a mold allergy.  Molds are common in warm, moist environments.

so every time i eat i have trouble swallowing my food. like i have to drink one thing with every bite and even then some things will get like stuck in like my throat for a second and i would have to cough it out. whats wrong with me?

Doctor can examine: New swallowing symptoms may be from a throat infection (antibiotics are needed if caused by strep bacteria) or some other cause such as stomach acid reflux, a little object stuck in the throat, a hyperactive gag reflex, a lack of saliva, a throat muscle coordination problem, etc... Usually, a person sees her pediatrician or family doctor for an evaluation, and a referral to specialists if needed.

Possible fibrous --: -union. Or non union of the fracture. Or can be costochrondritis (sp). This is where the bone of the ribs connects to the  cartilage of the rib cage that is attached to the sternum. To be sure, you can start with your PCP &amp; get referred if needed.

Musculoskeletal...: This sounds like musculoskeletal pain. Possible causes include muscle strain, cartilage inflammation or a rib bruise or even fracture. Any of these can occur with coughing. The good news is, no matter which of these is the culprit, the pain will resolve over time once the cough resolves. See your doctor if the pain does not resolve or if it worsens.

You may have: asthma or gerd or postnasal drip. See your doctor . May need referral to lung specialist for testing and examination.

Rib pain : Reproducible chest wall pain while coughing and chest wall movement is most likely from the ribs and intercostal muscles between the ribs.  Try Naproxen,  and if not improving get an alignment from a chiropractor or osteopath.
