If you are not on birth control consider starting which will also give you better cycle control.

It : It may be that your hormones are off balance, which can happen from conditions such as stress or weight changes (weight too high or too low).  If there is any chance that you are pregnant please take a test (some pregnancies can cause spotting or bleeding).

If you have pain, soaking more than a pad an hour, light-headedness, fainting or vomiting then you would have to be seen as an emergency.
