Hyperthyroidism : We often use beta blockers to help these symptoms until the hyperthyroidism is adequately treated. Speak to your doctor and don't neglect getting the basic problem treated.

what are the symptoms of a broken heart syndrome? i heard about the death of a friend today and immediately went to full blown panic  with a severe racing heart i took a 1/4 of propanol immediately but worried even though that happened hours ago?

GRIEF &amp; PANIC: The shock of your grief reaction led to a panic attack. A lot of anxiety it makes you more likely to have a panic attack. Panic attacks can mimic the signs of a heart attack but are very treatable. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for video psychotherapy to help. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to know if you have an illness. Medication prescribed by a Psychiatrist can help.

Time to see a doctor: Drug overdose, chest pressure, or chest pain are signs that he should talk with his doctor right away or go to the ER.  In adults (less likely in teens), chest pain can be a heart attack. He should not drive himself (safer by ambulance). If it turns out not to be arrhythmia or heart attack symptoms, or anxiety attack symptoms, the ER will also have checked for problems such as a lung issues.
