Life changing events (eg crime, divorce, etc) can occur in people with thyroid disorders.

No: Being hyperthyroid can make you feel hot and sweat a lot but I have not heard of it making skin itchy.  However, if you are taking medication to treat your hyperthyroidism, appearance of hives can be a sign of a reaction to the medication.
