No.: No link has been established between the heat and radiation from cell phones and pathology in the scrotum. A few animal studies suggest there might be an effect on sperm count, but they are inconclusive and not generalizable to humans at this time. As a urologist, i recommend reasonable precautions only & hopefully a well designed study can answer this question.

The Sertoli cells which help support sperm production and the Leydig cells which produce &gt;90% of the body's testosterone make up &lt;5% of testicular volume and the remainder consists of blood vessels and connective tissue.

See below: The germ cells inside the seminiferous tubules (sertoli cells) create sperm. The sperm move into the epididymis where they mature. They are stored there for a few weeks until they eventually move up the vas deferens to combine with fluids from the prostate and seminal vesicles to form what you normally think of as semen. The whole process takes about 7 weeks.

The leydig cells distributed throughout the testicle are the body's main source of testosterone. Testosterone, the male sex hormone, is essential to the development of the reproductive organs and other male characteristics such as body and facial hair, low voice, and wide shoulders. Without enough testosterone, a man will probably lose his sex drive and suffer from fatigue, depression, hot flashes and osteoporosis

Well....: in theory the tissue that would put out testosterone would be decreased by half, but in practice the left over area can eaisly make up the difference. It's certailnly possible for it to produce psychological issues however,.

Let me reassure you: I think this is the third time I've seen your question. I'm sorry about your testis. Leydig cells are extremely hard to destroy, though the rest of the testicular tissue is fragile. If you're getting erections like usual, and the rest of your body is that of a young man, you need to stop worrying. If not, you need to get with a physician. Especially, you're no less a man for having lost a testis.
