Diet or poor control: Either he's eating a lot less than he's burning off, or more likely, his glucose is not in good control and he's urinating it out. Also could be due to other medical problems.

: Keep the baby well hydrated and please see your pediatrician. These symptoms may indicate simply hunger and thirst or may be signs of an underlying problem. A urine and blood test to exclude diabetes, infection and metabolic problems may be ordered by your doctor.

Talk to doctor: There are many probable causes of your problem. It could be psychological or it may be other diseases like thyroid problem. Talk to your doctor and he/she may run tests if necessary, but the doctor who knows you well can get to the bottom of it all.

any sure signs of diabetes in 20 yr olds?(noticed larger appetite in the past yr,with a random & intense craving for sugar esp. after meals.sometimes sweets do not satisfy then i find what i really wanted=water.i take 3-4 glasses/day,that may be it?

: There are 2 basic forms of DM. One most common in 8-10 yo kids comes on quickly with increased feeding/drinking/rapid weight loss. The second is more  common among overweight adults who may show no symptoms for years. Either form will spill sugar into their urine and have abnormal blood sugar tests. Appetites &amp; cravings are non-specific symptoms.

Stress: Stress causes a release of cortisol which increases your appetite and causes you to eat. Try stress reducing therapy and avoid stress at all cost. You may need professional help for this

Kidney disease: Get a urinalysis and a test of urinary concentrating ability. You may have an interstitial nephritis if you are urinating a lot, as a diabetic would, but without high blood sugar. Bloodwork here is often normal until later. Just an idea.

the previous answer about sweating n hunger suggested hypoglicemia. i tried a gluco tab sweet it seemed to help and i don't feel as tired, diabetes??

Diabetes: No you probably don't have diabetes.You need to find out why you might have had hypoglycemia. I would have your PCP refer you to an Endocrinologist near you.

Unlikely: Diabetes at 17 is possibly, though definitely not first on the list.  Nausea and vomiting most likely due to gastroenteritis, or a viral infection. A week is a long time to have this though. You may want to see your doctor in order that he/she can evaluate you and perform some tests, perform physical exam, take a medical history. Good luck!
