In : In short...Yes.  These lesions are caused by the hpv virus and can be transmitted by contact like any other virus. Over the last 20 years we are seeing increasing number of intraoral lesions caused by the hpv viruses linked to genital warts due to the increase in oral sex.

Possible: This probability is always changing, I've seen everything from 60 plus percent to as low as 8%. The latest item I saw was 20 %.  But the number doesn't really matter, it's just a statistic.  The facts are, You are at risk with a single exposure.  Have you had the HPV vaccine?

Unknown: I have not seen a statistic on oral hpv.  It is however on the increase along with anal hpv.  Part of the increase is due to more awareness of physicians to look for these problems.

"HPV" transmission: Human papilloma virus can be present and transmitted even without visible lesions, so any contact with mucus membranes such as your mouth, can cause transmission.

Probably yes: Hpv is best prevented by receiving the vaccine prior to initiation of sexual activity. After it is present, it can recur even with treatment.  Transmission can also occur when there are are no visible warts. It is not an extremely contagious organism but has prediliction for mucosal(wet non-hair bearing skin)surfaces.
