Minor?: Not sure what minor means. If you have superficial frostbite, it is treated much the same a a sunburn or abrasion. Monitor for infection, and support the wound so it will heal. If you have blisters or a deeper injury, it would be best to see your doctor. Then, if things don't get better, you will have support at hand rather than having to go to the emergency room. Knee frostbite is not commonest.

FROSTBITE: Frostbite is the sharp, painful sensations that result from the freezing & thawing of the skin. It is a severe cold injury. The areas of the body most vulnerable to the effects of frostbite are the feet & toes, the tip of the nose, the rims & lobes of the ears, & the tips of the fingers. If you develop frostbite, see your doctor at once. Do not treat it with ice, ice water, or snow.

i have frostbite from an ice pack. how can i treat it? my hip is very red, numb and swollen.

Gentle warming: Remove the ice pack, and allow the tissues to recover their warmth on their own. Hot water or heating pads only further damage the already injured tissues. If there are no blisters this will heal uneventfully without care other than avoiding friction injury. If you have blisters, keep the area clean and apply Bacitracin (not triple) ointment and a non-stick dressing. Call md if infection appears.

Sounds normal: Sounds like you got a true thermal (cold) burn to to your arm.  As such, the tissue needs to heal and can remain pink (assume not fire-red to indicate an infection) and had some tingling.

: The chances of frostbite are slim at best. If icing an injury place a moist cloth over area place ice on moist cloth. This will provide extreme cold while being protected from frostbite.  Moderation. No more than .5 hour ice. One hour off. No ice. After 48 hours contrast bath is recommended

Yes but nut fully : With proper rx it will heal depending  on the degree of the burn. 1st no problem, rx like a sunburn. 2 with blisters keep clean don't pop them. Shower & wash with soap & h2o.Antibiotic ointment preferable silvadine cream, need rx. 3 rd needs immediate professional care. Also 4 each it depends  on the total area  of  the body involved.

Injury to be managed: Frostbite happens when the body part affected gets frozen.  Your body has to heal up from the injury.  If the frostbite is mild, prognosis is very good.  If it is severe, you can sometimes lose the affected body part.  Seek medical treatment asap, and educate yourself in frostbite prevention (not enough room here to go into details).

If you aren't sure, head to your nearest outdoors store and speak with a knowledgable outdoorsman.
