Laser removal BUT: Best way - get laser hair removal. It will thin out the hair and help reduce redness when shaving. In the meantime, always using a shaving gel, shaving after being in a bath for 10-15 min to soften the skin, shaving in a downward motion, frequenly changing razor blade. It might be a good idea to use a separate razor just for pubic area. Also after shaving using neosporin can help as well.

See a dermatologist: Very gentle shaving or use a depilatory cream instead. Otc benzoyl peroxide cream may help. Ask yourself why you shave there? Is it really needed?

Shave daily: You should shave daily. Your dermatologist can give medication to help control problem if there are still sores.

Itchy bumps: Do you shave your body? If you do, shave in the direction of the hair using a single blade razor, to prevent shaver's bumps.
It could also be a condition called hyperkeratosis follicularis, where the bumps are often seen on the outer arms, outer thighs and sometimes the face.
Exfoliate your skin 3 times a week, moisturize daily.

Tough problem: Some people have sensitive skin that is prone to shaving bumps/folliculitis, and you may consider alternate methods of hair removal (depilatories - the gentle ones, laser hair removal - which may cause irritation, that will likely resolve, but hopefully w/decreased hair growth).

Stick with soothing: My guess is that the acne pads wouldn't work as well.  It seems that shea butter and tea tree oil are the ingredients that contribute to soothing the hair follicles and skin in the After Shave and Bump Preventer (which is really interesting...have never heard of such a thing!). Neutrogena acne pads are intentionally more drying containing alcohol and salicylic acid. Good wishes:)

Don't shave so close: You're probably shaving very close with a multi-blade razor. Those razors actually shave below the skin line, causing ingrown hairs which appear as red bumps. Try a single-blade or electric razor. You won't get as close a shave, but that's the idea.
