is it normal for my 4 year old ( 5 in august ) to have extremely wide feet seems like xw in width shoes are too small he weighs 101 lbs but he's very active and slowly slimming down having a hard time finding him shoes that fit him width wise sandals?

: As a podiatrist I believe the difficulty and problem is not finding shoes, but more the weight of the child. I would seek help and guidance with your pediatrician.

Read below: If you are a male, this could be gout and you should see your doctor asap.  This could also be caused by trauma to the ankle from exercise or soccer.  This may also be a cyst on the top of the ankle.  To be certain, i would visit my podiatrist.  Good luck.

Swollen Foot Vein: I am assuming it does not hurt. Sudden onset of vein swelling would be rare. Veins fill up down there when the blood can not be moved upwards towards your heart. Any compression of the veins in the lower leg, like from tight socks or knee braces could do it. Hope this helps some. Dr Rich Blake

Small or deformed?: If her feet are just proportionally small, that shouldn't cause her pain or trouble, and there's nothing really to be done. But if she had full foot binding with broken or deformed bones, and her feet are now mis-shapen or painful, she should see a podiatrist or orthopedic foot surgeon who has experience with bound feet to see what options might be specifically for her feet.

Walking: Walking on a wound will delay or prevent healing. You should see a podiatrist (foot doctor).
