Shoulder pain: Pain that persists for 2 yr should likely be evaluated by a orthopedist.  Pain in the shoulder that goes below the elbow i to hand could be also coming from yr neck.

Abscess?: I would urge you to see your family doctor and let him/her examine this painful, hard, upper arm mass. You : You could try simple measures such as over-the-counter medication, like Ibuprofen or aleve; however, it seems to me that it might be worth your while to seek additional input from your primary care physician.  Three weeks is a rather lengthy time to have persistent loss of motion of the elbow.

Pinched nerve: A pinched nerve can cause neck pain headaches, and pain or numbness running into the arm.  There are other potential causes, however, and so it would be good to just get a regular check up to make sure it is nothing else.  An MRI can confirm the diagnosis.  Therapy, chiropractic, and interventional pain management are the non operative treatments for it if it doesn't get better.  Thank you.

More widespread : Not in isolation. Fibromyalgia is   characterized by multiple tender points, widespread deep muscle pain, fatigue, and depression. There are tender points scattered over the neck, back, chest, elbows, hips, buttocks, and knees. See your doctor to clarify.

Shoulder likely: Shoulder problems such as rotator cuff injury, arthritis, and subacromial bursitis can make use of the arm painful.  Heat, non steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, and range of motion exercises, and rotator cuff strengthening can at times help.  If persistent, see a hand or orthopedic surgeon who specializes in problems of the hand to shoulder.

hurt arm lifting and twisting to load a truck, what could it be? pain starts in top of the arm at elbow area where i have had tendonitis before. i heard a snap in my arm when it happened and if i try to pick anything up or twist it the pain is beyond desc
