Gentle cleansing of a contaminated wound with subsequent moist dressings will general produce the least prominent scar. Scar massage/pressure/occlusion may help.

Will disappoint: Over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide is your best non-prescription rx. Nothing you can do at home will touch scars. If you are the patient are are avoiding a physician's office visit, that is your business, but if you are responsible for the health of a teen who already has scarring, you have a duty to get him/her effective treatment that only evidence-based medicine is likely to provide.

Improve, not remove.: Scars cannot be removed but there is a large variety of techniques to improve their appearance, both surgical and non-surgical. They also improve with time. See a dermatologist or board-certified plastic surgeon to evaluate your options.

Scar treatment: Depending on the problem with the scar there are treatments to improve them but nothing will completely remove them. I treat pigmented scars with bbl to lighten them, thick scars with fractional laser to soften them, or bad or wide scars with surgery to cut out the scar and re-sew it a more cosmetically pleasing way. The laser approach requires a series of treatments to be effective--often 5-6.

Microdermabrasion: I have had many patients have microdermabrasion which seems to remove the top layers of the skin and it improves the appearance of the acne scars.

Improve not remove: Unfortunately there is no way to eliminate scars only improve them. Prevention with good skin care and hygiene and topical and/or oral antibiotics if needed are the best. Once scars are formed, avoiding sun exposure and tobacco use are important to help resolve the scars.

Scars?: If you really mean scars, they are permanent. You can lighten them somewhat with mederma, or consult a plastic surgeon about revision/removal if causing pain. Antibiotics do nothing to/for scars.
