Try hot soaks: Please a very warm wet cloth on your eyelid 3-4 times per day.  If this fails to work in a week or two, see an ophthalmologist for evaluation.

Hot moist packs: It seems like you have developed a sty which is an infection of th meibomian oil producing glands.  If it is small you can try daily 10 minute hot moist packs over closed eyelid for 2-3 weeks. If not resolved must see an ophthalmologist.  And don't forget every 3 year complete eye exams at your age.

Red bump: Your son may have a stye on his eyelid . Put warm compresses on the bump and the stye will come to a head and drain. See an eye doctor for either antibiotics drops or a salve to apply to the stye.

Stye: this is most likely a stye or infected oil gland in your eye. Usually resolves on its own but you may apply warm compress 3-4 times a day for 10-15 min at a time. See your eye doctor is there's no improvement.
