i feel pain in my left testicle, what could it be? i've tried checking for lumps but nothing unusual yet. can it be testicle cancer?

Infection?: Pain in your testicles is more likely due to an infection than cancer (especially if you don't feel any lumps), even though testicular cancer is more likely in those &lt;40yo than over. However, testicular pain can also be due to torsion or twisting of the testes in such a way as to cut off blood supply (never a good thing). So if pain persists, go see your family doc. Good luck!

Maybe: It's hard to say without doing an exam.  You may be just noticing normal structures, but varicose veins can frequently occur in this region (varicocoeles).  This may also need an ultrasound if your doctor thinks it's needed. Btw, kudos on doing self exams!

Very low: Sperm cord lies on top,of testicle and perhaps this is what you found. Regardless, your note suggests reasonable anxiety about your ‘find’, so see your family doc or Urologist for an in person eval to put your mind at ease. Good luck

Medical costs: We can't answer a question like that here.  I suggest you start w/a visit to your doctor.  He/she will determine if you need a scan or not.  If so, you can inquire at the facility where the scan will take place but it may not even be needed.  Peace and good health.

Testes: Pain in the testicular region can represent other things besides cancer. If in doubt would recommend seeing a urologist for a more thorough exam

Lump in testicle: The most common sign of testicle cancer is a lump or mass in the testicle found by self-exam or exam by a medical provider.  Occasionally, testis cancer is associated with hydrocele (fluid around testicle) and usually painless or result in discomfort.  Advance testis cancer may result in more body symptoms like weight loss, abdominal/back pain or mass.
