Patience and toleran: With her approval dispose of all ash trays, cigarette lighters, cigarette packages stashed in pocketbooks or clothing or drawers. Contact her friends and co workers and request assistance and support.  Go with her to her doctor to discuss medications or aids to stop smoking. Be physically supportive with a massage or neck rub if she gets anxious. Let her know how proud you are of her !

Not sure: Not sure what your question is.  Lisinopril is a great medication- you are taking a low dose and your BP is not related to the other issues you speak of.  You should work on quitting smoking. Check. Peyronies is treatable.

Smoking cessation: is a difficult undertaking in almost all cases.  It is advisable to cut down slowly prior to trying to quit altogether.  Try smoking one fewer cigarettes/day until you get down to 3-4 cigarettes per day, then cut down more slowly, by smoking only 1/2 cig or 2-3 puffs.  Nicotine patches help with withdrawal symptoms, but do not address other issues related to cigarette smoking, eg. habit, social.

It seems your studies are good they may deteriorate slightly due to the previous smoking but thats where is stops,  You have prevented any further damage that would have occurred and some of the above mentioned possible damage may resolve. Your doctor's right : You've nailed it! stopping your smoking is the single best thing that you can do. Emphysema is a tough diagnosis to have, because it is not reversible. However you can keep it from progressing by taking care of your lungs now. You need to have your anxiety address, so that your need for craving for cigarettes can be replaced by something that's more healthy. So finding a good smoking cessation support group is helpful.

Sinus infection: The problem may be chronic sinusitis.  Saline irrigation with a neil med sinurinse bottle might do a better job of clearing any debris.  A good exam by an ent, including a nasal endoscopy would best examine for the origin of bad breath.  Sometimes your breath isn't as bad as you imagine, also.

There really aren't: any truly negative effects.  However, short-term you may experience an increase in cough and sputum production, as your lungs try to clear themselves after that year and a half of throwing junk into them.  This may last for a week or two, rarely longer, but will improve. Some people get increased appetite and gain weight, and people with depression may feel more depressed. Get support/help from MD

Biofeedback: helpful for both may be biofeedback.  Make sure about reasons/causes for each.  Anxiety, stress, etc.  hydrate with water.  Hope this helps.  Biofeedback is way you can tap into yourself and solve or improve a number of conditions.
