Depends: For several days be alert for pain and bleeding.  Infection is uncommon but can occur.  After that your body will usually normalize.  Abortion is psychologically stressful (so is pregnancy) and a good support system is helpful.  It is also a good time to evaluate why you got in a situation requiring abortion so you can prevent it in the future.

Maybe, maybe not: This really depends on the type of termination and the reaction of your body to the procedure. I am aware of one industrialized country i traveled to years ago that use terminations as their main form of birth control, even after the pill was readily available. Most went on to have kids later.

Doctor can evaluate: The medicine is by prescription, so a woman goes to her Ob-Gyn doctor (or a women's clinic) to be evaluated for it. Whether or not medicine can be used also depends on the age of the baby fetus (the number of weeks pregnant). The doctor will talk with the patient to be sure that the patient is making a good permanent decision, because abortion is a hard decision for any woman to make.

: First contact your Abortion provider (MD) and see if antibiotics are needed as the cervix is still open and you are at risk for an intrauterine infection from the previous sexual encounter. Secondly, give some thought to a "boyfriend" who will put you and your health at risk for  his purely personal pleasure. I will borrow from a Tina Turner song, What's love got to do with it?"  Enough said!!

Instructions: The doctor who gave you the pills would have given you instructions. Call the office if you need clarification. Some doctors would like you to repeat the medicine after 24 hours and then do surgery if nothing happens, while others may forego the second dose and schedule you for surgical termination. Depression????: It is pretty normal to feel depression after an abortion. Moving to another country won't make it better. You need to talk to a counselor and get help, maybe even medication . You can feel better, you just need help and there are lots of people to help, even help lines!

Med Ab/followup: Followup for a med ab is important if still bleeding, or if the testing of the material did not indicate that the termination was complete.  Check with the provider who performed the procedure, as it may still be appropriate for a f/u appointment.
