Treat cause/depends.: It is very hard to say if this is cured, especially with the major causes of gonorrhea and chlamydia.  If these are the causes, treatment is with the appropriate antibiotics.  If the cause is not infectious, like an iud, removal should help.  If it's from allergic reaction to spermicides, etc. These should be avoided or tapered, or a different brand used.  Even with abx rx. This can persist.

Probably: There should be no reason that fertility would be negatively affected after treatment for cervicitis - unless there was some other issue related.  Some std'd cause cervicitis and could also cause infection and inflammation in and around the fallopian tubes - that could impair fertility.

Azithromycin for STD: Azithromycin as a single dose is treatment for Chlamydia.  If a partner tests positive, it is routine to treat both sexual partners if engaging in unprotected sex.  If testing was negative, I am not sure why you were given medication unless MD highly suspected Chlamidia despite negative testing.

i just found out 4 days ago that i'm pregnant. is it safe to take albothyl suppositories while pregnant? i have chronic severe cervicitis

Obgyn evaluation: This medication is not available in the US. The manufacturers website states that it should not be used in the first trimester. Reading about it more I am not sure it should be used ever without specific instructions from an Obgyn who is familiar with this medication. Chronic cervicitis should be evaluated and treated by an Obgyn after proper testing

Here are some ...: Apparently, you have been advised to receive empirical Rx for both so to minimize the odd of partner cross-over reinfection; in practice, it's reasonable. Of note, 75% of females and 50% of males with chlamydia infection are asymptomatic. So, bear with it and work closely with Doc at this time. If you indeed have concern, ask Doc directly as needed.

diagnosed with cervicitis on saturday.  given im ceftriaxone and 1 gram oral zithromax in er.  symptoms worsening.  how long does it take to improve?

In general,: It takes about 48-72 hours for you to have noticeable results from an antibiotics.  If you don't have any improvement after that time period, check back with the doctor to see if there may be an additional infection of some kind.  Good luck!

about how long does it take for symptoms of cervicitis to improve? on doxycycline and am on day 3. not much improvement thus far. cramps still persist

Did u get a shot too: Usually there is an injection called Rocephin (ceftriaxone) but if nomimprovementnyou need to be seen..  We usually see people at 48 hours after treatmentnif pain is involved.  Good luck, but i would get seen.
