Not long: Unless trauma was severe enough to cause a testicular rupture or bleed. An er visit may well be warranted for extreme pain lasting more than about 15 minutes.

Hx/physical: first thing you need is to be examined. A majority of chronic testes pain patients have normal exams and urinalysis-if so, then a 1 month trial of abstinence, anti-inflammatories, avoiding core exercises/heavy lifting and dietary modification is the first step

Pain resolves as testicle spontaneously untwists &amp; has resolved by time seen by health care provider or ER. You can test yourself by self twisting testis inwards, round &amp; round until there is pain. Confirmatory for intermittent torsionif pain produced must be identical to your painful complaint. Personalexperience, not in books.

Nothing: Increased blood flow to the testes can cause mild pain for a few hours. It will not do any harm.

: Testicles are very sensitive to discomfort/pain. So that was a normal reaction. . Testicular pain is of concern if it is severe, contiuous , accompanied by swelling, redness of skin (scrotum) and without history of injury.

Infection?: Get checked for infection of the prostate, testes, or epididymus.  Use protection for now.  It may not be an infection but this is certainly not a normal symptom. or there would be a lot more successfully chaste monks!

No help online : Given your description you need to be seen and examined , it may still be a viral infection as infectious mono, but need to rule out other conditions, and address the testicular pain, good luck
