It varies: It is recommended to have a speech/langauage therapist to work with stroke patients with aphasia. Have the therapist to educate loved ones or family members on how to perform exercises and practices to stroke patients. The more you do the better outcome... Also ask the therapist about the prognosis on specific type of aphasia.

: This question has more details but it is difficult to understand the first sentence. Did your brother wake your wife up at 3 AM or was he  last seen normal at 3 AM? Aphasia and no movement are consistent with a stroke but a focused neurologic exam is necessary and then brain imaging to rule out brain bleeding before deciding thrombolytic therapy upon history. Basically, my answer is the same.

: Taking history and then physical exam with focus on CNS exam, a basic blood test and then brain imaging either CT scan or MRI, depending on the differential diagnosis and availability.

Many r possible: There are many possible causes of these symptoms.  While it is true MS is one of them, it would be more convincing as MS if the symptoms lasted longer than 24 hours at a time.  If not, that is less likely.

If your symptoms were brief and your exam is normal, it may be nothing serious.
