Decrease more slowly: You sound like you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms from tramadol.  It happens when your body gets used to seeing it in your system and then suddenly stops. Tramadol has mild narcotic, pain-relieving properties. Flu-like symptoms, as well as emotional swings, are the hallmark.  Reduce slowly, in a tapered manner, and contact your prescribing doctor to inform them.

Heroin vs Tramadol?: If heroin is in your body, you should have no need of Tramadol until the heroin is nearly metabolized.Heroin, besides its horrendous psychophysiologic effects, also produces pain relief.I recommend waiting until the heroin has cleared, then trying Tramadol but, truthfully, if your system is used to the strength of heroin, Tramadol is likely to have little pain-relieving effect.

The sciatic nerve is not the cause of the pain source, it is the result of an irritated nerve typically in the lumbar spine (low back) which are caused by herniated disks, spinal stenosis or degenerative disc disease requiring further evaluation by a spine specialist.

Tramadol: Unlikely for it to prevent sleeping other than up to 25% of patients receive a sedating side effect while taking Tramadol, so in its absence it may be harder to sleep for 5-6 days

Yes, but....: The suggested dose is 2 tablets every 4-6 hours. I guess you could take 4 but can not take more than 8 in a 24 hour time period.
