Immediately: We were always taught that it can take up to a year after Depo-Provera to become pregnant. What we know now is you are most fertile after the Depo-Provera is stopped. So that first month after the first skipped dose, you are the most fertile. This is because the ovaries are no longer being supressed.

4 month -year: After stopping depo-provera, it can take an average of four to ten months to get pregnant. It will take up to two years from the date of your last depo-provera shot for your chances of getting pregnant to get back to that of a woman who has never had the shot. So, basically, four months after stopping the shot, your chances will start to increase.

Up to a year: Sometimes, after women have used the depot Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot, it can take up to a year to see a return to fertility.  Then again, it could happen right away as well.  Make sure you're ready for pregnancy in case it doesn't take a year.

Yes and no: Yes, if you start birth control pills you should resume having periods, although they may be somewhat irregular while the Depo gets out of your system. No, you should not get pregnant, as you will be substituting one form of birth control for another.

May be a delay: You may have a delay before starting your periods again after depoprovera, especially if your periods were irregular before starting depo. It could be several months. Needs evaluation: The effects of depo-provera on your body have been out of your system for at least two years. If you've been trying to get pregnant all of this time and it's definitely time for a fertility evaluation. A young healthy couple should try for one year before pursuing this option.
