Probably: It was probably effective unless you have extreme morbid obesity. Those types of patients go through the Depo shot very rapidly because of their peripheral fat content and need to have shorter than 3 month injection intervals to avoid undesired conception.

how big a dose & how often would you need to take clonazepam before you developed tolerance for it & it was no longer was effective w/o increased dose?

Accepted Answer

It varies: from person to person.  Tolerance may occur with any dosage and Clonazepam is very addictive and taking increasing dosages is not recommended.  Depending on the medical problem being treated there are other options for treatment.  Beware that stopping Clonazepam may lead to dangerous withdrawal and will need to be tapered slowly while another med is started.

my dr prescribed claritin (loratadine) for a skin reaction, but its no longer effective. can i take a second dose so i can get a decent night's sleep?

Caution: the maximum dose for Claritin is 10mg per day. So if you took 5 mg before, you can certainly take one more. Otherwise, try some skin lotions to moisturize the skin. Don't bathe or shower in hot water. Have Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) lotion if you can find it.

Risky business: Pamphlets are used to promote a product, and show it in its best light. Many of these products will be effective within this time frame most of the time. However, if it failed,you would sue your doc,not the pamphlet.Most docs like a month or so overlap with a backup form of contraceptive to cut the risk of unintended pregnancy.

Dialysis: Dialysis usually starts working after the first or second session.  It really depends on the reason for starting dialysis.  If its acute uremia or metabolic issues, one or two sessions will be very effective.  If its chronic kidney disease that progresses to esrd, then within a few sessions dialysis will be effective.  Toxins will be removed and metabolic abnormalities will be corrected.

At least one cycle: Typically, if the birth control pill is taken during meness, ovulation should be suppressed.  However, to insure effective contraception, back up birth control methods should be additonally used during the first month on the pill.

Depends on what is..: Meant for effective and what is being treated and where the infection is.  Usually with 12-24 hours, objective criteria of improvement such as decreasing temperature, decreasing white blood cell count and improvement in symptoms.

About 10 days: A steady state level with any change in dosing is obtained after about 10 days, but in terms of how long before you see a desired clinical effect it depends on what you are using it for (migraine, epilepsy, mood stabilization).
