No guarantees: You can recover and still have the virus in your system.  If so, exacerbations of HBV can occur.  Tests are available to determine if the virus, its antigens and its antibodies are present.  Most people, after recovery, will remain asymptomatic.  But, a few will develop late complications, like chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver tumors.  You need follow-up by your physician or a liver special

Depends on criteria: Hbv transmits more efficiently by needlestick, sexually or neonatally and is more likely to cause acute fulminant disease. Hcv is more likely to become chronic.  Both can cause cirrhosis which may result in liver cancer. There is a vaccine to prevent hbv, not hcv and therapy can be instituted for either.

A virus: Hepatitis c is a virus that affects the liver.  It is transmitted by blood contact.  About 20% of people fight it off  quickly.  The rest it keeps attacking the liver for years/ decades. There are treatments available, although work is being done on better options.
