12 hours: The half life of Codeine is about 3 hours. To be safe i would wait at least 12 hours after taking Codeine before you consume alcohol.

The less medication that one takes the better they are.

Overdosing yourself!: You will  be overdosing yourself causing respiratory depression and its consequences.  The purity of buying it from a dealer highly questionable!  Strongly urge you not to do this!

No...: First, only mom should be taking her prescription cough medicine. If you have a cough, you need to be evaluated by your doctor as you may not have the same diagnosis as your mom. Secondly, if the medicine has expired, it should be thrown away. Expiration dates are there for a reason and you do not want to risk your health by consuming expired meds.

No: It isn't ok to mix prescription medications with anything without talking to the prescribing physician or your pharmacist. Monster energy drink has a large amount of caffeine, as well as umpteen other ingredients of uncertain safety and use, and has been associated with a number of deaths from people overusing them, or having underlying cardiac issues.

No contraindication: But am concerned about the reasons for taking both.  Energy drinks are essentially caffeine, with some of them containing herbal remedies like ginko and often containing vitamins (which are mostly useless, and are just urinated out if you take excess amounts). People who feel tired should treat the cause of being tired, and not use stimulants (whether caffeine or others) - a vicious cycle develops.

i have been having herniated disc for 12 weeks now, however after drinking codeine i have developed globus sensation that is really affecting my daily life . please if someone can advise is there a possible link between these two conditions?

: Stress and anxiety are felt to be common causes of globus. I assume after 12 weeks of herniated disc symptoms, you've been quite stressed. Perhaps even worrying about need for surgery plays a role. Throat irritation from medications can cause or aggravate globus. I'm not sure if codeine is playing a role in your case.
