babies can measure too big or too small, does that cause your lmp date to be off? or make it seem as if you're further along than you thought?

LMP date could cause: You may have recalled your last period date (lmp)incorrectly and then your due date may not be accurately calculated.  You may have gestational diabetes and that can cause a fetus to grow larger more rapidly than it should.  You may have decreased blood flow from the placenta to the fetus ( like from smoking) and this can decrease the rate of growth of the fetus.

Dates for Pregnancy: Dates are clarified and validated with the earliest ultrasound.  Many women do not know their body well; many women cannot tell the doctor the simplest of facts such as when they ovulate in their cycle.  The ultrasound helps get the details clarified. 

So, doctors can guess to answer your question but they order ultra sounds right away in early pregnancy.

Pregnancy wheel: A pregnancy wheel consultation shows that with an LMP of 4/27 your EDD would be 2/1/15 which would make you 27 weeks gestation. Going purely by when sex occurred you would also be 27 weeks on this Friday. US typically estimates EDD and gestation by size of the fetus. It's not a perfect science but you could expect to deliver between 2/1 and 2/17 most likely. In good health, take care!

ultrasound shows me at 6w6d, lmp has me at 7w5d. i know that i ovulated on cd 19-20. is this why i'm not as far along as i thought?

Conception: We know that first trimester ultrasounds are most helpful to establish/confirm a due date.  Perhaps, in your case, the sperm took a little while longer (a day or so) to fertilize your egg.  Also, ovulating later in your cycle, as you mentioned on CD 19-20, instead of cycle day 12-14, would cause the actual conception to be later. Good luck!

Pregnant?: Most likely very early. Anywhere from 6-8 weeks but based on ultrasound maybe earlier. Repeat the hcg level and follow closely with doctor

A common confusion: By convention we count the number of weeks of pregnancy as being from the date of conception plus 2.  Historically this is because the LMP is much more clearly known than the date of conception, which on average occurs 2 weeks after the lmp.

4 weeks 5 days: If you had regular periods. Conception occurred around May 27 and you are now 4 weeks 5 days.

Ultrasound!: As your cycles have been irregular, its tough to use them as gauge of how far along you are.  I suggest that you see your doctor and get a pelvic ultrasound, which will definitively and accurately date the pregnancy.  Congratulations!

took a blood test on 5/14/15 it was 333 and on 5/18/15 was 1633 last lmp was 4/4/15 did ultrasound on 5/14/15 didn't see on it . how far along am i ?

Blood Test: It is difficult to say how far along you are based on Bhcg levels.  There is a range of values, but we do not do dating based on hcg levels.  Dates are done by LNMP and by Ultrasound.  It is not unusual to have seen nothing with the levels you had.  You would not expect to even see a gestational sac with 99% confidence until approximately 4000-5000.
