You probably had an "anovulatory cycle" in which you do not ovulate and will not have a menses. A pelvic sono can diagnose ovarian cysts which can also be a cause of the problem.

Sometimes, even if pregnant, there is not a high enough HCG level to trigger a positive result on a pregnancy test. Possible symptoms of pregnancy include: lack of a period, abdominal enlargement, slight cramping, breast tenderess or swelling, urinating more often, food cravings, headaches, feeling tired etc. If you are a teenager, sometimes your period can be somewhat irregular initially.
