why do we have a high body temperature while sleeping?

We don't.: Most people don't run a higher temp while sleeping. It's the same as usual, because we are mammals, warm-blooded, and maintain homeostasis. During certain parts of sleep, the body temperature regulation temporarily stops, but those times are pretty short and don't change the overall body temp. Most people sleep a little better when the room temperature is a little cooler than during the day.

Yes: Yes it rises for both, a little more for women and children than adult men. This is part of the natural cricadian rhythm.

Sick stomach: It is very common to have stomach viruses that cause nausea and vomiting. Should not last more than 2-3 days. Make sure there are not other problems , such as thirst or excessive urination. If so then to the doctor asap.

3yr old on antibiotcs for 4 days for scarlet fever. fever is gone but still very congested, coughs during sleep, hoarse voice congested nose.  ?

Cold symptoms: Strep infections can be accompanied with symptoms of running nose as well.Antibiotics usually will not affect the running nose so you should use saline nose drops several times a day to stop the post nasal drip which is causing his cough. At night elevate his matress so he is sleeping on an angle. Run a vaporizer. During the day take him into the washroom and turn on the the hot shower.

Yes, but...: You have been waiting a while for an answer, and this is not my specialty, but no a high fever is not good while pregnant. Of course it depends on how high and for how long. I see no reason to put off a visit to an md.

my fever rose 1.5 degrees fahrenheit while sleeping under a wool blanket. it's 90 degrees today. is this a false high or is my fever that high?

? Fever?: Why are you sleeping under a woolen blanket when the temperature is 90? Wear comfortable light clothing and then check your temp. Also different people run at different temps.  98.6 is an average number for a large sample. You may be above or below.

2 y/o with vomiting and fever. vomiting stopped 2 days ago but fever remains and is high while sleeping. no other symptoms but bug bite on arm. whiny.

Check hydration: Make sure your little one stays hydrated with Pedialyte or other pediatric rehydrant.  Vomiting + fever can mean trouble if they persists.  If wet diapers significantly decrease (1-2in, tender or draining.  This would be a sign that the bite needs further care.

Sleep disorder: Certain sleep disorders can trigger the release of stress hormones (cortisol) which can then cause the production of catecholamines. These can increase heart rate, blood pressure and elevate body temperature...Causing sweating.
Someone trained in sleep medicine can order some tests and provide more information, if desired.
