It is rare: Although herpes simplex can infect a tonsil, a more likely cause of depressed sores in the tonsil are canker sores of non-herpetic origin.  These appear as small depressions surrounded by a thin white ring.  They measure about 2-3 mm in diameter.

Testing: A herpes viral culture can determine if a rash is due to the herpes virus.  A doctor can perform this if there is an active lesion.  If there is no active lesion, a blood test can be performed to determine if there are antibodies against any recent or past herpes infection.

Tonsil stones: These are not from a herpetic infection.  As we get older, our tonsils become cratered.  These craters hold onto food, which are the source of the "pus pockets".

i had oral sex and two weeks later my tonsil swelled up. it has been like this for 2 months. what's the chance this is herpes or hiv?

Oral sex: This depends upon whether you were the donor or donee.  If you had the ejaculation of semen into your mouth by performing oral sex this is an excellent way to be infected with multiple different stds, including hiv, syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes and others.  Go and see a doctor with expertise in stds and get examined and tested.  Good luck.

i have clusters of bumps on the underside of my penis and sack and pubic area. i don't know if it is herpes or warts. i have pictures as well.

Probably not either: While the depicted condition is not clear enough to provide a good guess, clinically, it seems not suggesting either, but more for the presence of the common sebaceous cysts, which are usually asymptomatic but annoying by their appearance. Second opinion: We aren't able to access the pictures but there is a great app that may be able to help you get a diagnosis without being seen in person by a dermatologist. Unlikely: Everything is possible in medicine, but would look for other causes in this specific situation. One enlarged tonsil is a reason for proper medical evaluation.
