Palpitations: Palpitations have many causes from anxiety through anatomic and physiologic abnormalities. The feeling of bounding usually relates to the volume of blood pumped with each palpitation. There is no simple single answer for the question. If you're bothered by the feeling should consult a dr. To see if the problem can be clarified.

Yes: Technically it may be called arrhythmia but it is very common. It is normal to have at least five extra beats per minute. Just to make sure you don't have anything else i would get an EKG and consider a holter monitor but sometimes simply by listening your heart a physician may diagnose extra beats ( PVC or apc) or atrial  or other arrhythmias that may require treatment.

Needs eval soon: This could be something not serious like an adverse effect from your antihistamine. But it could also be something very serious. Heart beat irregularities occurring that often or multiple times in a row can be serious. You absolutely need to get into your doctor THIS WEEK to have it evaluated. You need a good exam of heart including rate, blood pressure and EKG, and then go form there. MAKE APPT!!

Physiology: There can be physiologic issues related to your heart position and the heart beat. This may not be a serious problem. This is something you can discuss with your physician and perhaps see a cardiologist or even an electrophysiologist if this is an issue.

Sometimes it is just due to anxiety or too much caffeine, but can be other reasons, like Thyroid  disease. it is best to speak with a doctor one on one

Yes.: An EKG and Holter monitor are non-invasive and can give good information. Lab may be needed for Ca, Mg and K levels if you are on other meds or have loose stools. Treatment at home that works well is Mg (magnesium). For skip beats etc. I use Mag Glycinate or Mag Maleate @ 200 mg 3x/d. [this can cause loose stools so you might only tolerate 400 mg. The symptoms you are describing coincide with arrhythmia, which is a condition characterized by problems in the conduction sytem in the heart. This means that the "wires" where the electrical impulses needed for the heart to beat are having a problem.
